今回ご紹介するTAILOR TOYO（テーラー東洋）2021年秋冬モデルの新作は、海底から舞い上がる龍と、天空から舞い降りる龍とが睨みあう1950年代中期の作品。リバーシブル面は虎の図案の中でも珍しい、斜め上からのアングルで描かれた白虎の絵柄。身頃のアセテートはエイジングによって褪色し、落ち着いた風合いをみせるが、レーヨンの刺繍には光沢が残っており、そのコントラストも魅力のひとつ。

 

A jacket made in the mid 1950s depicts two dragons glaring at each other, one soaring from the sea and the other one descending from heaven. On the reverse side it has a white tiger that was depicted at rare, unique angle. The aging process helps soften the brightness of shiny body color of the acetate fabric, but sharpen the luster of embroidery threads of rayon, which is a charming contrast.
